You can forget about 2011 after my post :)

This is my review of 2011 being done in 2012. Wow, can't believe a year can pass so quickly. I don't have many of my own pictures 'cos I'm on my mam's laptop as mine is so slow it drives me mad!

JANUARY

January the most depressing month ever! I can't remember much happening in this month apart from GCSE exams and lots of snow! The snow was so bad we got a week off school which was all good :)

FEBURARY

Nothing happened in this month as far as I can remember as per...

MARCH

This month was the beginning of better weather and spring. I love when spring comes around because seeing flowers and the blossoms on my tree make me smile. About half way through the month, me and friends went and seen X Factor in concert. It was surprisingly really good which I wasn't expecting at all. I suppose as long as you know the songs and there is a good atmosphere you can have a MINT time!

APRIL

I went to Paris for the second time but this time with my parents, and 2/3 of my brothers. We went for about 5/6 days and the weather was so hot! The days consisted of The Eiffel Tower, Boat ride along the river, having a mooch around the city, and disneyland for two days. It was a really fun time and it was great to get away :)
Oh and the Royal Wedding - I loved how all the British got together and the whole thing was really lovely.

MAY

My dog Jess turned 3 this month :) Me and my friend Sarah went to Radio 1's Big Weekend in Carlisle. It was my first festival and didn't involve staying in a muddy, minging tent for a couple of days -yey! It was so muddy though but we had our faithful wellies to get us through. We seen Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, The Wombats, Two Door Cinema Club, Polarsets, My Chemical Romance, The Script, Noah and the Whale and Masters in France. Our backs and feet were killing by the end of it though because there were no seats and it was too clarty to sit on the grass. My final GCSE exams also started this month.

JUNE

June brought the end of school for me, which I could not wait for! I was hardly in school this month as we only had to go in for exams and revision classes which was great and gave us much more time to revise! Of course very helpful :) My exams finished and then it was prom on the 30th. Time to wear a long dress and heels - which came off about 11pm haha. I had such a great time, it was lovely seeing everyone for the last proper time and all dressed up too.

JULY

I was finished school and my ten weeks off before starting sixth form was happening. I don't think I did much this month except have loads of lie ins, laze about, watch loadsa tele and films, read and walk the dog. However there was of course the very sad farewell to Harry Potter. Ten years over like that! Seriously still can't believe that it's ended - I watched the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 just a few days ago too.

AUGUST

The weather was a let down this month as it wasn't that hot up north. There were the odd hot days but the weather was better in June and JUly. I went down to Devon and Cornwall for over a week, with my family - the same lot who I went to Paris with but also my dog - and we met up and staying with my mam's friends, baby and two dogs. It was my first time camping ever and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Plus, the weather down south was really good! I got my GCSE results which I had been working on for 2/3 years. I had a couple of remarks in this month so my final grades were 2 A*'s, 7 A's, 2 B's and 1 C. I was so pleased :)

SEPTEMBER

I finally started sixth form and began my work for my A-levels. I met some new friends, and started new subjects. It was great to not have to wear an uniform anymore, have more freedom and have free periods. Whoever says school is the best time of your life - it's not. I much prefer sixth form - the days might be longer and more work but it's really good.

OCTOBER

Nothing major happened in October either. The weather was freezing - gale winds, icy air and rain - :(

NOVEMBER

Time to get festive!

DECEMBER

I turned 17 and of course it was Christmas and New Year. I was really disappointed that there was no snow for xmas day but never mind - the weather is never what you want! And, I had my first driving lesson - bring it on I say :)

I've probably missed a few things out but never mind. Happy New Year everyone. Let's hope this one's a good one anyway. We've got the Olympics which will probably never be off the news. I live like 7/8 hours drive from London but anyhow it should be good - even though I only like watching the diving.

2012 Resolutions:

-Lose weight for Greece in July
-Pass driving test
-Get a job
-Do good and revise loads for AS exams in June

.... and I'll be 18 in 12 months time. Oh My God!

Review

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Spray 100ml

This exclusive, versatile formula with citrus and chamomile works with blow-dryer heat to gradually lighten and brighten for a natural-looking, blonder blonde. Visibly lightens in 3-5 uses.

Superdrug or Boots - £6.99

I've been using this lightening spray for the past four days and I have to say it really does work. I wanted a hair product that would lighten my blonde hair. As the colder weather is setting in and we didn't have that much of a summer here, I can't rely on the sun making my hair lighter - which it normally does a little bit. I didn't want to get highlights or dye it a lighter blonde because a) in case I didn't like it and b) the price.

So when I came across this lightening spray, I decided to have a go and the best thing about it is that it's gradual. So I can make sure that I don't go peroxide! It's only £7 which is really good especially because it works. All you have to do is spray it on wet hair, comb through and then blow dry as it says more heat = more lightening! Then the next morning (I normally go in the shower on a night) I straighten my hair (most of the time) because I have naturally curly/wavy hair.

I really should have done 'before and after' pictures but I didn't think about this until after I used it for the first time. Oops :/ Nevertheless, I can say that there is definitely a visible difference. My hair is a lighter and it's suitable for natural blondes or dyed blondes. You can either use it for highlights, your roots or the full hair. It doesn't make your hair look 'bleach blonde' but natural looking.

Rating - 5/5

Beyonce - 4

I finally got around to downloading Beyonce's newest album 4 yesterday. I already had the following singles on my iPod: Run The World (Girls) and Best Thing I Never Had and I was dying to download the rest of it. Beyonce doesn't disappoint, as usual her vocals are incredible. I've always preffered when Beyonce does slower songs rather than up beat fast songs and there are some amazing songs on this album that I absolutely love. One of my absolute favourites, perhaps the favourite with Best Thing I Never Had is I Was Here. It is such a beautiful, beautiful song! Everyone can relate to it in someway and it is such an amazing song.

My favourites:

Day 7 of 15 -

Day 7 - Something I am proud of in the last few days...

This is quite a hard one for me as I can't even remember what I actually did in the last few days even though they have been really good for the beginning of the month. First of all I'll begin with what I've done and then I'll tell you what I'm proud of.

On Thursday evening it was my friends 16th and we all went out for a meal, Friday was the day after the night before and we were all tired - nearly falling asleep - at school and yesterday I went to the pictures with two of my friends to see Source Code, which I thought was good.

What I'm proud of?
These aren't major things in life to be proud of but off I go anyway:

1) I had an IT deadline on Friday but I finished all my work a week ago so when people were stressing out about I could just do some other work and help my friend. I was really pleased that I finished the unit of work before most people.

2) I know my way around the Metro Centre and where all of the shops are! (i.e. our nearest shopping centre) When me and my friends went on Saturday I was the one who had to navigate the quickest way to get to the cinema at the other side before we missed the showing time - we were already ten minutes late but they were the trailers. Not sure if that is something to be proud of it is just clear that in the past I've spent to much time there :)

P.S. Happy Mother's Day Mam!!

Day 2 of 15 -

Day 2 - The meaning behind me blogger name...

'The Life of an Ordinary Girl' The name of my blog may not be as exciting and eye catching as some of other blogs which I have read but this title is definitely the most suitable for what I am all about. I am ordinary, average, normal.

I do 'ordinary' things - watch TV, go to the cinema, go out with friends, read, listen to music, walk my dog. I am not extravagant in any way. I went through a phase of wanting to change the name of my blog because I thought it was boring and I did for a day but I changed it back because the tital at present is me. When I changed it, I felt like this blog wasn't really mine anymore.

I changed it back and it probably won't change. I will change as a person during the time that I will have this blog but I will not change in the way I like to do things and what I like - which is doing the simple, ordinary things. Having dreams, which will hopefully come true and just enjoying life.

Not So Much A Love Story

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed reading Wuthering Heights. I know it's supposed to be one of the most famous love stories in English Literature, but it is one heck of a complex one. I understand that is a love story in some parts but in others it is downright violence.
For the record, in my opinion of course, the older Cathy (who Heathcliff loves) seems really spoilt and a bit of a bitch and I don't like Heathcliff. My friend that had already read the book before me, actually likes in Heathcliff in parts and thinks he's sweet. Fair enough, I feel sorry for him in the first part of the book when he is a child but in the second half I really do not like him as a character. Obviously I respect anyone's opinions so I would love to know what you think of Heathcliff if you have read the book.

Even though it seems that I have just 'pulled the book to pieces' I actually enjoyed it once I got into reading it and got used to the way it was written. I feel that I would need to read the book a second time to understand more about what is happening and read between the lines more. I do recommend it though to anyone who fancies a challenging book to read. I would love to see the film as well.

If you have read it, what did you think?
