You'll Be Missed.

Tonight, the last ever show of The Bill is being shown. I've watched and followed the many characters of this police show for years and after 27 years, it got axed a few months ago. Due to a new producer for the channel ITV axing a lot of programmes. To be quite honest, I'll miss watching it. Yes, I know it's just a TV programme (that none of my friends or family watch) but has been one of my favourite programmes. This small post is my little tribute. I would have wrote more but I don't think any of my followers actually watch it and most of you live over in America!

This show helped proper many celebrities including Hollywood actress Keira Knightly, Russell Brand, Denise Van Outen, David Walliams,  Martine McCutcheon, Alex Kingston and Paul O'Grady.

Who would have thought that Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightly starred in the police drama in 1995, as a young girl caught up in a robbery.

What about Russell Brand? The comedian and Katy Perry's fiancee starred in The Bill as a 'cocky thief' in 1994.

It was amazing how many Eastender's stars went onto star in The Bill and vice versa. These two programmes kept on 'sharing' actors and actresses. If one left Eastenders, they would end up in The Bill or if they left The Bill, they would end up in Eastenders!

Stars in both programmes include: (The Bill character is named first)
* Scott Maslen - who was DS Phil Hunter in The Bill and Jack Branning in Eastenders
* Todd Carty - PC Gabriel Kent and Mark Fowler
* Louisa Lytton - PC Beth Green and Ruby Allen
* Gillian Taylforth -Sgt. Nikki Wright and Kathy Beale
* Roberta Taylor - Insp. Gina Gold and Irene Raymond
* Billy Murray - DS Don Beech and Johnny Allen (Ruby's father except they were not in The Bill at the same time)

Dear 'The Bill',

Thank you for airing your show weekly for years. I have only missed a few shows due to being on holidays and beacuse it is never shown on repeat! Over the years, I have loved many of the characters. However one was shot, another stabbed to death and one left and moved over to Eastenders! But I'm happy to say that two will still be in tonight's show. One of these being the now Inspector Dale 'Smithy' Smith who will say the last line of the finale. You will be missed by me and I will now not have a police drama to watch weekly on a Tuesday night. Everyone thinks the producers were too hasty to axe this long running drama and I agree, but he wouldn't be told!

For now, farewell.

The Past Two Days:

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

For once, mine was go,go,go for both of the days. Saturday saw me and my family help my aunty move into her new flat. My older brother and dad transferred her belongings over to her new place then me and my mam helped unpack everything and make it homely. Then my younger brothers came down and it all turned a little loud. But apart from that I had a lovely day as it got me out of the house doing something. On Sunday, we popped back down to my aunty's to check how her 'first night' was and if her dogs settled in okay. After that we went down to the Metro Centre to get a few things. I bought a new pearl headband and a navy parka for mild autumn days. So, overall I would say it was quite successful.

Well, I'm off to sort out some of my history work as I am back to school for my last year next week :( I'm not going to talk about it anymore, because it will just get me down. Enjoy the rest of your evening :)

Looks like I'm not the only one who feels tired.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

P.S. 'a trip down memory lane' will be back next friday as it is now a friday series of posts.

a trip down memory lane - #1

So, maybe this post would probably have had more of a point if it had been done in January of this year. That's because I'm going to post my favourite number one's from each year of the 2000s. I love listening to old songs, it makes me feel so nostalgic. Here goes: my favourite two number one's of each year before 2010!

(P.S. how cute is this duck!)
2000: Eninem ft Dido - Stan
         Robbie Williams - Rock DJ

2001: Shaggy - It Wasn't Me
Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head

2002: Enrique Iglesias - Hero
Pink - Just Like A Pill

2003: Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
t.A.T.u - All The Things She Said

(three again - eesh!)

2009: (this was such a hugeee year for great songs! So I've chosen six!!)
          Lady Gaga - Pokerface
Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
          Cascada - Evacuate the Dancefloor
          Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love
Joe McElderry - The Climb (+ Because he is from where I live! Woo!)  :]

For more number ones of the decade visit: this wikipedia page :)
I think it's strange to think that these songs were from so long ago! That Pussycat Doll's first single was in 2005, that Can't Get You Out Of My Head was in 2001 and that Rihanna hit the big time with her song Umbrella in 2007! It lasted ten weeks over here at number one!

Hope you enjoyed my blast from the past! Like any of these songs? If so, which ones?

Yummm.

I love a scoop of ice cream on a summers day! And as summer is starting to turn into autumn, I thought I would post some delicious pictures.

I love strawberry ice cream! But you can't beat a 99 either!

I absolutely love hundreds and thousands on an ice-cream!
What's your favourite ice cream flavour and topping?

How Cute Are These?

Everything In One Room!

Imagine having a bedroom like this? Even if only for a few weeks! This is a hotel suite in Mykonos Island, Greece.

(same room but view from the bed)

Never mind being overwhelmed by the stunning scenery, what about the stunning bedroom!
I wouldn't want to leave. Talk about luxury!

Not So Shabby!

Courtesy of shabbychic.com I've found some amazing interior design ideas. From the gallery on the website, I've got some photos of the work the amazing designer Rachel Ashwell does.

In most of her designs I have found she catches the modern trends i.e. the cream sofa but adds a little country and old-worn things to make the rooms more cosy and lived in.

This garden table and chairs reminds me of sitting outside on a lovely summers day with the family. It doesn't look too fancy and expensive and just right for a barbecue.

This bathroom adds a little vintage with the mirror and although the sink and bathtub are of an old-fashioned design they still look modern.

I love the bed and detail in this room. It looks so romantic with that lived - in kinda feeling.

In this picture I love how the the colours are creams and whites and are really light. I think what looks so great in this room is the table next to the sofa. It looks old and traditional but looks so right in this room with the pretty flowers on top!

This kitchen totally reminds me of a little country cottage, all white with vases of flowers everywhere.

I love how the designs over at shabbychic look modern but traditional as well. So cosy and relaxing. They look cosy and lived in and as the designer said [It's] 'Like the cozy familiarity of a well-worn pair of faded jeans, the dilapidated elegance of an Italian villa, the worn grandeur of faded velvets and mismatched floral china handed down from your grandmother’s attic, the brand is a revived appreciation for what is used, well-loved, and worn, it is a respect for natural evolution and a regard for what is easy and sensible.'

I couldn't have said it better myself!
What are your opinions on the various interior designs? I love them!

Happy Week.

Hope you's all have had a lovely, happy week. I suppose I have.
Here's some images I found over the internet this evening!

I love a good rollercoaster!

I love the beach especially when the sun is just setting!

Don't you just feel so care free when your at the beach? I sure do!

I absolutely love reading! And I want that bookmark!

All you have to do is Believe in yourself, Believe that you can and you will!

I think this is really sweet. I love going to the beach and looking at the sea especially if it's abroad!
It is so relaxing and in this case so romantic!

Lifting My Spirits

After a very restless sleep last night i.e. waking up every few hours, tossing and turning while having a massive cold. It's August and I've got a cold. A cold that is making me feel really rough and well just... ill.
When I'm not feeling well, I'll read, watch films and listen to music. I finished another book today by Mary Higgens Clark called I Heard That Song Before. It's very good and I love her books. I also like to listen to my music.

Here are some of my favourite songs at the minute although they're not all very uplifting, but in my opinion they're good all the same. Enjoy.

* Ne-Yo - Beautiful Monster
* Christina Aguilera - You Lost Me
* Rihanna & Eninem - Love The Way You Lie
* Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way
* Alexandra Burke - Don't Let Me Start Without You
* Olly Murs - Please Don't Let Me Go
* Travis McCoy ft Bruno Mars - Billionare
* Usher - DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love
* Scissor Sisters - Running Out
* Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
* Diana Vickers - My Hip
* The Script - For The First Time
* Leona Lewis - Naked

Hope you've all had an ill - free Monday x

Toss & Turn, Toss & Turn!

When you lie in bed on a night time trying to fall into sleep, do you toss and turn even if you are tired? I do - and I did last night! It is so frustrating when all you want to is sleep and a hundred and one things are running back and forth through your mind.
I can't even remember anything I was thinking about.

Last week, whilst listening to my favourite radio station in the car, the radio presenter was talking about women and men falling asleep. According to a magazine (not sure which one) it can take up to an hour (or more) for a woman to fall asleep but it only takes a man around five minutes. Well, that's not suprising! For a while it has been taking me around half an hour to get to sleep but it feels like hours!
In my opinion its totally true. My mind goes over and over things and I think about everything really.

Is it the same for you?

P.S. I love this picture from weheartit so I thought I would share it will all you lovely followers :)

My New Music Love.

The Scissor Sisters. The disco divas return with their new album Night Work and I love it after only listening to it a few times! I have to say I loved their previous album although I have either misplaced or put it in the bin (*sad*) when doing a CD clearout because I never really listen to CDs anymore. Anyhow, I decided to download their new album after listening to one of their songs Fire With Fire and Running Out on the programme Alan Carr: Chatty Man and I loved them straight away!

How great is this album cover! Haha :) - Very Unique
At first I wasn't too keen on some of the songs on their album as they were totally weird sounding but as I listen to them again and again they totally grew on me!
My five favourite songs from their album at the minute: (in no particular order!)

1) Running Out
2) Any Which Way
3) Fire With Fire
4) Whole New Way
5) Invisible Light

However I do like the others too! Check them out or some of the others but I think this album is a bit like Marmite - you either love it or hate it! I love it [Marmite] and ... the Scissor Sisters :) Haha.

Also, I want to mention that I finally went to watch Inception at the cinema with my mam and dad. It was really good but very complicated especially at the beginning. However I caught up as the film continued. I really enjoyed it though.

Hope you have had a lovely Saturday followers!

Being Away. Doing Nothing.

Okay so I wasn't sure what to write for this post today. I havn't been posting for the last few days as I have been up Bamburgh with my family which was quite boring but with daily walks on the beach and a (brilliant) book in hand on the evenings, I got through it fairly well.

Well, it is three weeks in the summer holidays and apart from a few days away (three down London and three up Bamburgh and Berwick) I havn't really done much. I hate wasting the 'summer' holidays but to be quite honest up Newcastle we havn't had much of a summer. The weather was scorching back in May and June but once we hit August the lovely weather has turned into rain, rain, rain and overcast days. I feel like I have a hundred and one things to do but I do not. Once I am back to school for my final year in September I will be wishing for the next summer holidays to begin.
I know it sounds like I am wishing my life away but I just can't wait to leave!

Anyway back to the present and something more positive... well for me. I am finally going to watch Inception at the cinema on friday! Yeyy! I'm really looking forward to it. Has anyone else seen it? Well I'm off for now and will have another post soon.

'I think we'll be alright
I think we will survive
Everybody gets a little scared like this sometimes
I think we'll be alright
I think we will survive
You've got to fall apart
And Put It Back Together again'

Back home.

So, I am back from my little three day adventure down South and after a very long lie-in, in bed this morning I feel like I've never been away! Everything is back to normal, me getting from day to day trying to find something to do in these summer holidays.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

'So, just remember I am your defender
I won't let you stand there on your own
No matter what they tell ya

I will not surrender
Now until forever
You will never
Be alone'

Smile, Giggle, Laugh!

When you laugh everything just seems to get better; the rain outside no longer bothers you and the things that annoyed you are forgotten about or at least for that day. If your upset through any kind of relationships, whether that be friends, partners or between mother and daughters - all you need to do is smile and hopefully you will feel better.

Maybe I should listen to my own advice.

There's loads of things that make me laugh: Tv programmes such as Alan Carr: Chatty Man and the brilliant Gavin and Stacey, films, friends or just silly things that happen which are true laugh out loud situations. Yesterday I went to the cinema with my friends to see Toy Storey 3 which is brilliant and very funny - Barbie and Ken were just hilarious! I laughed and I felt well ... good.

My Science teacher told us that laughing releases some chemical or hormone or whatever which is good for you! Even a better reason to laugh.
