a trip down memory lane - #5

This will be my final 'trip down memory lane' post because a) I know longer want to focus on the past but the future although I love so many of things from the past and like to visit my memories occasionally :) But for now, I'm all about the future. Please read my updated bucket list. This was updated actually quite a while ago but I forgot to tell you all! Anyway back to my post:

I really don't want to 'jinx' this by posting about it, so fingers crossed I won't! In December, the school will be putting on a visit down to London on the last three days of school before we break up from Christmas. If they get 40 people to go, it will definitly go ahead! And, I am really looking forward to it. I've been down to London a few times before but the things that we will do on this visit will be things that I havn't done before. Not only will we watch a show on one of the evenings we will be taking a trip down memory lane!

As part of the trip and because the class is doing GCSE History(i love history!=]), we will visit the Imperial Museum where we will see things that are relevant to what we are doing in History at the minute: before World War 1, after World War 1, the growth of Hitler and the Nazi Party are among others. We will also see the Churchill war cabinets which I think will be really good!

The thing I am most excited for is that on another one of the evenings we will go on a proper ghost walk! How exciting but scary is that! I've always wanted to do something like that but I thought that it might be too sccaarrryyyy. This is definitely the past!
It's definitely 'a trip down memory lane' I can't wait to take even though it is in December. Let's hope they get enough people and have a happy weekend :)

the things I do...

The things I do for my dog. If it's not walking in feet of snow while the snow comes down (providing you don't want to have a snowball fight! and it really is cold!), being absolutely freezing as the wind blows around you, it's being caught in a massive downpour that lasts longer than it should. These are the days, you wish your dog didn't need a walk and the days you want to snuggle up in the covers, watch a chick-flick with a lovely mug of hot chocolate. Yummm.

It had been drizzling for a while and when it stopped I decided to take my dog, Jess out on her walk. Only to be met halfway along the street by a buckets of rain falling down! I was only wearing my light weight parka coat and it being kinda waterproof did not help at all! For drizzly autumn days the coat is perfect, it keeps you dry and isn't heavy. However tonight was not a drizzly autumn day.

With my red polka dot wellies on, my hood up, already totally drenched - before I even reached the field - I have to say I probably looked a right state! Jess didn't really seem mind she kept on pulling until she was let off where she ran along the field as I tried to miss standing in the muddy puddles on the field.

I have to say this has not been my favourite walk, not in a long mile. If I knew Jess wasn't desperate and excited to go out I think I would have walked back to my house in five minutes. But I held out and kept it up for twenty minutes before I decided - enough was definitely enough! By the time I reached home... my jeans were so wet they had turned very dark blue and were actually sticking to me, my hoody under my parka was soaked through (along with my parka) and even my black vest top under the hoody was wet!
With having to get fully changed again, I have to say i wasn't in the best mood. Oh, I hate the rain!

I can definitely say I looked like
...a drowned rat!

a trip down memory lane - #4

Sorry about the change in the post this week. I was going to post some photo's as mentioned in my post last Friday but I've been busy, busy, busy and just didn't have time to scan them in. Next week, I'll hopefully be able to do them!

Do you remember your last day of primary school? I was thinking about it earlier this week. Some girls cried, I kinda just got on with it, knowing my friends were going to the same secondary school as me. Obviously it was quite upsetting leaving the school where you learnt practically everything and you spent all them years with the same teachers and the same people. In primary school, you thought you were so grown-up but when moving into year seven, you were suddenly the newbie, little year seven and were not quite so grown up anymore.
My last day at that school will definitly be in my memory forever! What about you?

However now, it will be my last day of secondary school next June. I know it's a long time away but I'm sure it will be over so quick I'll still remember writing this post!

A Tuesday Walk.

After finishing school today, I took Jess out on her walk. We've had Jess two years now since she was a little puppy and she has such a great personality. I know that kinda sounds silly but honestly she does her own little thing and has so many human traits. haha. Well anyway, she's a cocker spaniel and I love her lots :) You really have to live with her for a few days, to see what she is really like; getting the cushions on the settee, picking up socks, shoes, slippers and bringing them inconveniently downstairs, and putting her front paws on the downstairs windowsill to have a 'neb' at everyone going past. Not forgetting barking at everything! She really is one of a kind.

So, we went out on a walk and were met by a horrible drizzly rain. Although the sun was shining, it was still raining throughout the walk and it was far too windy for my liking! However, once we reached the field there was a lovely rainbow! I don't normally take my own photographs so today will be (hopefully) a nice change. Even though it was raining, I couldn't resist taking a few snaps on my mobile.

Off we go:

the pretty rainbow! it looked much more colourful when outside

Jess in my picture having a sniff around!

Standing at the top of the hill! hehe

being her unphotogenic self! moving her head away.

aww, my gorgeous little dog :)

All That Is Vintage...

"Fashion fades, only style stays the same" - Coco Chanel

I don't normally post on fashion but everyone should try something new, once in a while. Shouldn't they? I found these stunning vintage classics across many tumblrs.

I love looking at vintage fashion. I think the top dress is definately my favourite from the 1960s, it's just beautiful.
The models just look so stylish and elegant. Don't they?

a trip down memory lane - #3

Memories.

Memories can be in any shape or form. Old photos, things you have kept from places or people, remembering something in your mind or even hearing something and it reminding you of something that happened to you with friends or family.

For me, I keep many of my things as 'reminders for the future' so I can look back and think 'God, I can remember doing this or that!' I also love my photo albums. I have quite a lot and if I have photos of an event, the photos are printed and put in my current album. I think it will always be something I do, store my photos from any thing that has happened. It reminds me of the past and they mean quite a lot to me.

This is kinda a hard question but:
'If your house set on fire, what would you save? Your family, pets and any other living thing are no longer present.'
Well, it would have to be my photo albums, they are my past. Yes, you have the memories stored away in your memory but you forget most of them in time and you need something to triggor it back. For me, photos do that. I'm sure it is the same for most people.

Hopefully in my post next week I will be able to share some photos from some of my photo albums. Well, that is depending on if I can scan my photos in or not! :/
For now though, have a lovely weekend :)
