30 Days of Truth - Day Thirty!

Day Thirty - A letter to yourself, tell yourself everything you love about yourself...

Dear Rebecca,
I love how you keep yourself to yourself and don't find the need to brag or be an attention seeker. You think about other people's feelings in situations and it's not all about yourself. I love how you don't judge people on first appearances and you accept people for who they are. You don't feel like you have to change yourself for anyone but if you do change it's only for yourself, which is great! If your not happy about something, you will speak up even though you're quite shy and modest whilst at school. You speak far too fast but that is just a part of being you! You don't make a show of yourself and aren't crazy and confident in groups of people but you have a great personality and need to show it more! I like how your honest about yourself and would rather stay and watch television than go out drinking on a friday night.
Love yourself x

Hey followers :) Hope you have enjoyed my 30 Days of Truth, I sure have. It has been really enlightening for me. I have to say I'm glad this final post is over because I have found saying what I love about myself a real challenge. I couldn't be less vain or anymore modest! I'm looking forward to posting Time to Smile again - so I hope you enjoy those! :)

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty Nine

Day Twenty Nine - Something you hope to change about yourself and why?

I would like to change my appearance - I want to lose weight, grow my nails and to get on top of sorting out my dry skin. Hopefully with the summer my skin will be better, yey :) And, now I have had a treadmill in the house for a few months I've been going on three/four times a week. I want to keep that sustained and even try going on nearly every day even if it is only for half an hour because it makes such a difference. The only reason I want to change my weight is so I'm happier in myself and I think if you're happier on the outside as well as the inside, your confidence grows which I want to happen.

Well, it takes time but I'm on my way!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! :)

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty Eight

Day Twenty Eight - What if you were pregnant, what would you do?...

Don't get me wrong I want children when I'm older, in ten years or so making me around 26/27 years old but not now. I'm 16 and I think I would just totally freak out and I don't think I would be the only one - I have a feeling my parents would just want to kill me!

I don't really believe in abortion so I don't think I could do that. I really hope that I wouldn't find out to late and I could take 'the morning after' pill. The only other option would be adoption but then I wouldn't want to give MY child up. Aghh. This is totally got me going so many ways but I don't want children too young, I want to live my life, have a career and go travelling before I settle down and because I have younger twin brothers, I know how stressful kids are!

I just hope I don't get myself into this situation and let's just say I'll be making sure there is contraception! I would love a baby, forget the screaming remember the cuteness, just give me time! Haha :) What would you do?

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty Seven

Day Twenty Seven - What's the best thing going for you now?...

I would say at the minute the best thing going for me is mostly everything; family, friends and school. School is really good at the minute (and that I don't say lightly.) January exams are over and although I've got a maths re-sit in March and more exams to come in May and June, the exam period is over for now.

The weather is finally looking up and today I could go shopping without a coat! It wasn't that warm but the sun was out not like yesterday when it was grey, foggy and drizzly. Spring is around the corner which means when I get more money, more shopping to be done for spring and summer time. I'm going to Paris in April, this time with my family and my friends which I can't believe is only around 2 months away. I can't wait!

And finally, I'm quite excited to leave school at the end of June. It will scary to think that after June I won't be going back to the school which I've been going to since I was 11! Really when I think about it all the major things that have happened in my life have been during those years when I've been attending that school.

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty Six

Day Twenty Six - Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?

I wouldn't say I've ever wanted to give up on life but I have certainly felt really down and wondered 'what am I doing here?' If you know what I mean. This was about four or five years ago, so to me I wasn't even old enough to actually make a proper decision. Even if I had felt so bad that I wanted to end my life, I would never have gone through with it anyway.

I don't really remember much about it but it was just times when I would cry in bed and whatnot. But I don't know why. Hormones? Probably. It was just the simple things that were really getting to me and upsetting me. I hope that I never feel like I want to give up on life because too me: life is too short to begin with and I want to do so much.

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty Five

Day Twenty Five - The reason you're still alive today...

To be quite honest, I have never really thought about it and it has took me a while to think and actually begin to write this post. It could be anything and I could throw around ideas but the fact is I'll never really know and probably won't find out. Here are a few reasons it could be, which one is correct is anybody's guess!

- Religious reasons i.e. God

- I don't do drugs or anything illegal

- I don't get into fights and don't look for a reason to be injured etc.

- I'm cautious when crossing the road

- I get out of the way of reversing cars, like today when an old man nearly reversed into me!

- I haven't had any threatening illnesses

- I'm extremely lucky!

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty Three

Day Twenty Three - Something you wish you had done in life...

I can't really answer this one yet because I'm quite young. But I hope that as I become older I don't regret that I never did something in my life or if I do it is really insignificant. I hope that in my life I am able to live my life to the full and enjoy nearly every minute of it. I hope that I am successful in what I want to do, am in a loving relationship, that I get to travel around the world - exploring not just the big, bustling cities but the little nooks and crannies of country villages and their little tea shops! I really hope that life is going to be good to me, full of the simple things making my life complete. Fun, laughter and love - that is all I really need to be happy.

How about you?

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty Two

Day Twenty Two - Something you wish you hadn't done in your life...

I would say so far in sixteen years of life, I don't have anything that I wish I hadn't done in my life. I don't have any regrets. Yes, I have made mistakes in my life but without those mistakes I would not be the person I am today. There is nothing significant in my life which I think 'I wish I hadn't done that!' Maybe I had at the time but not anymore.

I believe everything happens for a reason, but I'm sure if I do live to regret something I've done in the future, you will be the first to hear because I will probably post it on here if I'm still blogging! That's all for now though, have a lovely day :)

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty-One

Day Twenty One - (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?

This one's not hard. If my best friend had been a car accident, I would drop everything and go to the hospital because she wouldn't be my best friend if I didn't care for her. The fight earlier would have probably been pointless or petty and nothing in comparison to what has happened.

I also would be mortified that we'd have fought before something about something that's not even worth it and it would be forgotten about before I could even remember what we had been fighting about in the first place. And, hopefully my best friend would be fine but most importantly hopefully this will never happen because I wouldn't wish this on anybody.

30 Days of Truth - Day Twenty

Day Twenty - Your views on drugs and alcohol...

Drugs - I've never tried them and never will. In my opinion illegal drugs are illegal for a reason, they're no good. They cause problems, heartbreak, and death. I would hate to find myself in a situation where I am reliant on something as lethal as drugs - that is why I will never try them. People can call me boring but I don't care 'even if it is just this once', it's not me and I can promise never will. Yes, I understand people find themselve's addicted because of various personal circumstances but surely it just makes you feel like shit after it has wore off. I would hate to have a regret so severe as this one.

Alcohol - I'm only sixteen so I can't really answer this one properly. I'm not a big drinker and maybe you probably think well I 'shouldn't be at my age'. But as you can imagine, some people in my year live for Friday & Saturday nights when they can get totally smashed on cans of lager and cider whilst roaming the streets and running from police.Trust me I've heard of a few stories from people in my year, much like this one. I live for the weekend for shopping trips, time with friends, films at the cinema and most importantly a lie-in!  I like white wine and Smirnoff Ice and will have a drink on special occasions but not every weekend, more likely once a month. I'm sure this will change when I start sixth-form and I start going out with friends when I become legal at 18 - the clubbing will begin haha. But I have a feeling, I won't get totally drunk when I can't remember the night before!

30 Days of Truth - Day Nineteen

Day Nineteen - What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?...

I'll answer this in two parts:

Religion - I'm not a big believer in religion but I respect anyone that does. I wasn't brought up in a family that was religious and although my parents were Christened - I wasn't. Partly to do with money when I was first born. However I do not regret that I wasn't because I have never really thought about myself being in anyway religious. When I was in Durham Cathedral last Thursday for the Holocaust Memorial Day, (which I never mentioned on here but it was a great but freezing day where a Holocaust survivor spoke - it was very interesting and made you realise how important life is and how much you should live it!) I actually thought how amazing it would be to actually have beliefs and be able to turn to religion in moments of doubt or in tough days. Anyway, I would sum this up by saying I am probably an Atheist.

Politics - I'm not to bothered about this either as I'm not a very political person. In my opinion most politicians are liars and cheat to get what they want - take our Government in the UK for example. They say they are going to do one thing to get people's votes and then when they're in a coalition, they do that one thing they say they weren't going to. Then who suffers for the economy being so messed up - us! When it was the MP's buying four different houses, swimming pools and duck houses when they shouldn't have been. Enough said!

30 Days of Truth - Day Eighteen

Day Eighteen - Your views on gay marriage...

In my eyes there is nothing wrong with a gay marriage. I'm not a big believer in religion so I can see why some people can disagree with gay marriage but as far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter about the gender, if a couple loves each other and they want to confirm their love for one another by getting married then they should.

I don't actually know anybody personally that is gay but everyone should be respected about who they are, who they want to be and what they want to do. So, gay marriage should not be a problem, if there is a problem maybe they should look away. I'm not here to judge and I'm certainly not going to, in any situation. I suppose it is everyone's own personal opinion depending on beliefs and so on.

Why should they not be allowed to love eachother and get married like everybody else?
I think they should be.

30 Days of Truth - Day Seventeen

Day Seventeen - A book that you've read which has changed your views on something...

I thought this one would be easy to answer because I've read quite a few books but I wasn't sure if the books that I have read have actually changed my views on something. I suppose one book that I have read that made a view much clearer in my mind was in the book 'Picture Perfect' by Jodi Picoult. Jodi Picoult's books are all about family life, relationships and problems that can arise in our day-to-day life and I'm quite a fan of her books.

In this particular book (NO SPOILERS) she shows us that even if people have lots of money, can buy the latest cars, mansions and thousands of shoes it doesn't make them happy. I already knew that money isn't everything in life and that is why I named my blog by the name it has - because I find the simple things in life make me the happiest. Yes, I love something new and whatnot and I do agree it makes you happy. Anyway, this book reinforced my view and can show even the best life, the best marriage you can dream of has cracks deep down and that you do not need to be perfect or infact nothing/no one is perfect!

I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to fellow book readers. If you have read it or any other books by the same author let me know :)

'Whoever said money can't buy happiness, didn't know where to shop' - Gertrude Stein

Well in response to this, you clearly have never seen the film 'Confessions of a Shopoholic!' :) Have a lovely day!

30 Days of Truth - Day Sixteen

Day Sixteen - Someone or something you could definitely live without...

This one is easy - Moths & Spiders. Eughhh! I'm not a fan of creepy crawlies and these are most definitely my least favourite. I hate the way they just appear in your house/room and totally freak me out. The first thing I'll do is shout 'Mam' or 'Dad' - see I told you I couldn't live without my family :) Then the little trespasser will be removed from my room and I can say Phew! and carry on with what I was planning on doing.

I don't even have a relevant picture for this post because I hate looking at them especially moths. The only relevance is that I am happy when I don't see one! :) I need saved from them so I could definitely live without them in the world!

30 Days of Truth - Day Fifteen

Day Fifteen - Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it...

I haven't tried living without anything that I love a lot. I love love love books, music and the television but I could never live without my family - I would miss them far too much. I may argue with my parents, my three brothers or get annoyed at my little dog when she doesn't stop barking but I wouldn't change any of it. I love my life, with all our ups and downs.
I went out on Saturday and my mam said she would miss me - haha - I was only going to the cinema but it was because she works a lot during the week. Aww :)

My family are always there for me and I love nothing more than having a little heart to heart with my mam or Jess (my little cocker spaniel) she may not answer back but I can cuddle into her and she may just be listening haha. It's nice to know that I always have somewhere I can go when things are tough and where I'll always be loved (I hope!) haha.

I actually spend quite a lot of time on my own, in my room even though I'm sixteen but I could never live without my family and I am fortunate that I haven't had to try and live without them. I've been away on holidays without them and I haven't got home sick but there is never anything better than:

HOME, SWEET, HOME

30 Days of Truth - Day Fourteen

Day Fourteen - A hero that has let you down (letter)

(what a cool super hero cake, even though I don't know all of them haha)

Sorry to cut this short but I don't have a letter for a hero that I've had. I thought of the most obvious 'hero' that might come to my mind and that was superheroes haha. But I wasn't that much of a fan of the more famous superheroes; Superman, Spider-man, Batman, Catwoman etc. etc. However my favourite out of these is probably Spider-man because I quite like the films :) Then I thought of family members or even famous people who could have been my idols but as much as I love my family they haven't really been my hereos either.

I am going to think though of heroes/heroines that have not let me down but who I think have done great deeds such as in Greek nythology and whatnot. Note to self - a post for the future! :) How about you? - Who is your hero?

30 Days of Truth - Day Thirteen

Day Thirteen - A band/ artist that has got you through some tough ass days (letter)

Dear Rihanna & Adele,

You are both totally different artists but I feel I can relate to parts of some of your songs and others which are happy and upbeat gets me through bad days and makes me feel better. At the moment you are both two of my favourite artists.

Rihanna's Loud album is one of my favourites at the minute, she is such an amazing singer. Her songs are definitely more upbeat than Adele's which make you feel much more happier - yey! :) Adele's songs are much slower but they are the types of songs, you can just lie on your bed and listen to the lyrics.

The songs by these artists are absolutely worth a listen. I'm guessing most people know of Rihanna's songs and like them too but Adele may be more English based (I'm not sure :/ - let me know) and less listened to. I've just downloaded her new album '21' and have not listened to all of the songs yet but her first album '19' is brilliant!

30 Days of Truth - Day Twelve

Day Twelve - Something you never get compliments on...

Emm, I'm not sure about this one because sometimes I get compliments on various things but they are quite sparse. These sparse compliments are normally on how I look when I go out and get dressed up - things like that - but not on a day-to-day basis when I'm dressing more casual. I never get compliments on my nails haha maybe that is because they are very short and I never get compliments on my size because I'm not a 'skinny-minny' but there is no surprises there :)

How about you?

30 Days of Truth - Day Eleven

Day Eleven - Something people seem to compliment you the most on...

(the best advice for an exam)

Hmm, I would say I get complimented the most on my grades in my exams at school. How sad is that? hehe but I like it in a way. I'm not a swot, I just get on with my work and get the grades I want. Which is great when I see an A*! I love knowing that I've done well especially in subjects that I hope to study further for my A-Levels - if you haven't noticed aleady, I frequently talk about the future on my blogs. But hey, it's not all beauty and looks :)
