'When You're In Unfamiliar Places, Count On Me Through Life's Changes'

The last couple of weeks have been a little over the place as I've been doing nothing for most days and then not knowing if I'm doing anything the next day or not. I've had so much free time, I just want to be doing something! Here's a few pics from the last week or so. Hope you're all having a great week. Friday tomorrow! And, I'm off to see Horrible Bosses with Amie and Sarah tomorrow, which should be fun!

In my mam and dad's bedroom :)

Okay so my head looks pretty big here and Jess obviously does not want a photo taken but I love her <3

My seven year old brother. Ben did this today! How good is this?! It's me, Daniel his twin brother and little Jess.

A little close up of the three siblings (minus our older brother)

Jess who looks very sorry for herself!

Award No.4

I got another award yesterday from the lovely Hazel at Pablo's Angel. It means so much when I get an award from another blogger. I love it when people appreciate my blog! So, thank you so much and I'll add it to my awards page! So, the rules of recieving the award are listing seven things about yourself. I've done this a few times and I'm finding it hard to think of more things about myself! Here are my other lists from other awards too: 1, 2, 3
The award is the 'Blog On Fire Award'!

Seven little somethings about me:
1. My favourite type of food is Italian.

2. I live in Newcastle, England.

3. I don't like or eat red meat. The only type of 'red meat,' I'll eat is mince in spag bol & chile and in mini sausage rolls. They have to be mini ones though. I don't like normal sized sausage rolls as there's too much meat :)

4. My favourite alcoholic drinks are vodka and orange and smirnoff ice but I don't often drink alcohol.

5. I've never smoked and I'm pretty sure I can say that I never will. I hate the smell (sorry)

6. I'm dying to go to Italy.

7. My two favourite comedians are Alan Carr and Michael McIntyre. But I also love Sarah Millican and Jack Whitehall.

I'm passing this award onto the following 7 blogs:

- Anna at Artist's Charm
-  Furree Katt
- Aimee at Peardrops & Polkadots
- Jess at Wild Tortoise
- Rania at Nothing Like Fashion
- Erika at A Tiny Rocket
- Meleonie at Ramblings Of A Teenage Daydreamer
All I have to do now is write a comment to these lovelies! How's your week been everyone? Time for the weekend now!

Idealistic vs Reality

A couple of weeks ago Hazel wrote about a theory by Carl Rogers that everyone had an ideal self and a real self. She then wrote about her own self and real self and her post was really honest and inspiring. So, I have chose to post about my real and ideal self.

I believe that everyone has that part of them that wants to be different from what they actually are and it's the same for me. My ideal self would be pounds and pounds lighter than what I actually weigh, I would be two inches taller and I would be more confident. However, my real self is heavier in weight than I want to be to look and feel good, is quite small in height and is more self conscious than I should be in groups of people.

My ideal self would be able to look better for a job as the real self would like more money in her purse. This ideal self would look and look for possible jobs and would be more confident than my real self. I wouldn't feel nervous and silly in a job interview (not that I've had one but I will for sure be a bag of nerves)

Rebecca, my real self, loves sitting with her head in a book, being organised and would prefer being tucked up in bed watching The Notebook than going out drinking on a Friday night. But I wish I was more like my ideal self where I wouldn't be as bothered what people thought of me and had a little more spontaneity. My real self is interested in history but my ideal self would be able to pick up an artifact and know the time period and the history that surrounded it. She would be able to read Wuthering Heights, knowing what it all of the words meant and it not taking weeks to finish.

Finally, my ideal self would not have a pain in the arse nut allergy unlike my real self. She wouldn't be severely allergic to peanuts, coconuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios, Brazil nuts etc. and wouldn't have to check the wrapper or box of food every time she ate to see if it had nuts in. My ideal self would be able to go to a restaurant or abroad without worrying that as soon as I put a fork full of food into my mouth, I wouldn't have to jab myself with my epi-pen.

My ideal self will probably never happen, my personality will not change (I do love my laid back but organised, kind and friendly approach but I wish I had more confidence) I will not grow taller but I can still try and lose weight (which I'm doing at the moment) But my ideal self would not be my real self, even though I would love to be able to know the history behind different artifacts and historical pieces and be able to spout out information as soon as I saw something relating to it.

The thing is though not all of the ideal self that I want to be would really reflect who I honestly am.

To My Followers:

I love blogging! I was intrduced last May by a friend who already had blogger and after a few weeks I was pretty much addicted. I love being able to post a variety of things; my daily life, things I want to do, things I like and dislike and find out so much more about my lovely followers. I've said this before but I'll say it again: getting comments off fellow bloggers and getting new followers makes my day. It lets me know, that what I say is relevant to other people too and it's not always a load of crap!

This brings me to my next thing - HELLO NEW FOLLOWERS! Sixty may be quite small to some people but to me it's a lot! I thought my blog would never get this many followers o if I did it would have took longer than it has. I know it's not supposed to be how many followers you have but I think it makes a huge difference if people around the world are actually listening in. Having followers has allowed me to make my posts and my blog better in my eyes.

Blogger allows me to find new blogs which I love and people that have the same interests as me. I love reading a blog and thinking 'There's someone else that loves/hates that too!' but more importantly to me I love reading a blog and thinking 'Wow! I want to go there someday!/ I want to do that someday!' From blogs, I learn new things, which I may not have fully understood before or find out something completly new! I think it's a great way of learning new things from people just like me all around the world.

This may have sounded a little bit like a goodbye post but I promise you it isn't. I'll be back with a post tomorrow or the day after. This post is really my way of saying a big thank you to all my followers, to all those who comment or read my posts and also a thank you to the people I follow for making me want to try new things and making my dreams come a little bit closer by learning new things! I wish someday that I could meet the people who I see as Blogger Friends :)

Wohhh! Hold On A Sec!

Where has the time gone? On Thursday I break up for my Easter Holidays for 2 weeks & 2 Days! and I can't believe that when I get back to school it will be May. I just can't believe that these final exams have came around so fast. My first exams begin in the second or third week of May and last up until the end of June. It doesn't really help that I'm being put in for loads of resits in some module exams as I got an A but I am targetted an A*. (Science teachers, I'm talking to you!!)

Aghh, everything is coming around so quickly. So many new exams, so many resits and so many revision sessions after school to attend. Never mind all the revision I need to do at home because to be quite honest I don't know half of the stuff I need to know off by heart for my upcoming exams.

I'm writing this post now from a break on improving my Science Data Analysis coursework that I did last year in year 10 to get one more mark. I am so close to an A* overall for my Core Science GCSE so I'm trying to push myself for it. But I get the feeling that if I don't start revising now, everything will get on top of me - hence my goals for April - REVISE!

Day 14 of 15 -

Day 14 - Why I am doing this challenge...

The first reason I decided to do this challenge was because I didn't have anything creative/interesting posts to write. The second reason I decided to do this is because I like being able to post daily and about totally different things that I wouldn't normally post. These challenges are a way for all of my followers to find out more about me and for me to think about things about myself, which I wouldn't normally think about it.

Ironically as soon as I began this challenge, I got loads of different ideas for posts which I could write, which were different from posts that I've done before. So I am looking forward to doing them soon. Anyway, I am glad that I have done this challenge and I hope you have enjoyed reading them. Last one tomorrow!

Which post out of the challenge has been your favourite so far?

Day 13 of 15 -

Day 13 - What you would find in my bag...

This is my bag I use when I'm not at school. I don't have enough stuff to fill this up but I love to have a big bag. If this was my school bag it would be full of loads and loads of books. This is what my bag looks like at the minute minus an umbrella because the weather is so lovely!)

Pens, Phone, iPod, Inhaler (to use with my epi-pen), Epi-Pen, Mirror, Tissues, Purse, Vaseline, Spare Bobble, Mini Deodorant, Comb, Chewing Gum, Plasters, Marc Jacobs Sunglasses and case plus girls things :)

I don't normally carry my make up around with me hence it not being in the photo. Sometimes I do take it with me but it depends on where I am going. I normally just take my Vaseline to keep my lips moisturised.
P.S. I would just like to mention that I finished The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory yesterday and it was really good. I read The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory beforehand, which I would say helped me understand more of the book as it refers back to events in the other Queen's reigns, which are mentioned in The Other Boleyn Girl. I would seriously recommend these books! I am now going to finish off reading The Diary of Anne Frank which I began a few months ago but only finished half of it before moving onto another book. I am determined to finish it this time.

Day 11 of 15 -

Day 11 - Nicknames I have and why I have them...

Rebecca -

Probably one of a few names which has loads and loads of variations including: Rebekah, Becca, Becky, Becks, Beck, Reb plus far too many different ways of spelling these.

Nicknames?

I don't have a nickname that doesn't relate to my name. Sometimes me and my friends make up silly nicknames for eachother because of peronalities etc. but I don't have one that sticks. If I was to say I had a nickname it would probably be Becca. I don't even realise if people call me Becca or Rebecca, I'm just so used to it. Sometimes my mam calls me Becks (or however you want to spell it) but that is really rare.

Maybe people just call me Becca because they're too lazy to add the extra two letters in front. Hmm?  :P

Day 10 of 15 -

Day 10 - Another picture of myself (baby picture!)

Okay, so I'm not technically a baby here but in most of my good quality baby photos I have really bad eczema so I found these to post. I couldn't decide which photo out of these two to post so I'm posting both of them! I wish my eyes were as blue as they were then.

Day 4 of 15 -

Day 4 - A habit I wish I didn't have...

This one is probably a little disgusting for some people but it's a habit I wish I didn't have so I'm going to tell you. I bite my fingernails constantly. I really wish I didn't and I really wish that I could stop. My nails are therefore quite short and I really wish that they were longer so that I could paint them. If I paint them short, it just doesn't look right. I would love to have them the length above so I could paint them that lovely colour also as above :)

It's just one of those things I suppose. I'll be able to stop for a day or so but then I won't even realise that I'm biting them. I've done it since I can remember. Oh well, hopefully in the future I'll be able to stop. Anyone else share the same bad habit?

(Talk about a short but sweet post - well maybe not so sweet)

Day 1 of 15 -

Day 1 - A recent picture of myself and 15 interesting facts...

They may not be that interesting but here are fifteen facts about me: -

1. I have a small scar on my left eyebrow where my brother hit my head against the radiator in our old house when I was little. (I was told it was an accident but I suppose I'll never know) :)

2. When I'm bored, I sometimes think if our lives are actually real. Weird I know.

3. I always buy loads of books before I have even read all of the ones I've already got.

4. I've made some mistakes in my life but I don't regret them or I wouldn't be where I was today.

5. I have a nut allergy - peanuts, coconuts, almonds, pistachios, Brazil nuts etc. etc. (have a feeling you may have already known that one!) ;)

6. I had really bad chicken pox when I was younger and have three or four little scars on my face.

7.  I always write what I need to do on post-it notes and putting them all around my room until I've completed them.
8. I really, really want to travel literally everywhere when I'm older.

9. My middle name is Abigail.

10. I'm 17 this year!

11. Two of my favourite authors at the moment are Philippa Gregory and Dorothy Koomson.
12. I used to hate missing my TV programmes but now I'm not so bad as I can record them hehe.

13. I always sing in the car to the radio. For the record I'm a crap singer but I don't care!

14. I love it in summer when I can wear my Marc Jacobs sunnies because they are prescription glasses so I can actually see when I wear them.

15. Not so interesting but I found it really hard to think of these 15 facts :/

Sunday, 27 March 2011

Okay, let's make my posts more interesting...

I've decided to do another challenge which is different from the 30 Days of Truth. I like doing challenges on blogger as I like to be able to open up, talk about personal matters which I probably wouldn't normally talk about on here and air my views but most importantly keep my posts regular. This time I've decided to do one for only fifteen days even though the challenge that I did find was thirty days long. This is the completed list if any of you wish to do the full one. These are the ones I will be completing beginning on Monday (tomorrow):

Day 1: A recent picture of myself and 15 interesting facts
Day 2: The meaning behind my Blogger name
Day 3: Short term goals for this month and why
 Day 4: A habit I wish I didn't have
Day 5: A picture of somewhere I've been to
Day 6: A picture of me and my friends
Day 7: Something I am proud of in the last few days
Day 8: A picture of me and my family
Day 9: Put your iPod on shuffle: first 10 songs they play
Day 10: Another picture of myself (baby picture!)
Day 11: Nicknames I have and why I have them
Day 12: Something I crave a lot
Day 13: What you would find in my bag
Day 14: Why I am doing this challenge
Day 15: In this past month what have I learnt

I feel like I'm going to really enjoy doing this challenge. I know that I probably shouldn't have chosen the ones that I want out of the thirty but the reason that I chose the above was mainly because a) some of the others were the same/ very similar to the last challenge I did and/or b) I have rambled about the others a lot before.

I hope you enjoy reading these and I'll be back tomorrow with Day 1!

It's Red Nose Day!

So today is Red Nose Day i.e. Comic Relief. It was non school uniform today at school and so I gave a small donation for not wearing my uniform and I also sponsered a boy a few years younger than myself to do a sponsored silence. Whether he succeeded in that I'm not sure but at least the money will go to charity regardless.

Are any of you doing anything special this weekend?

Time to Smile - #121-125

Title: Time to Smile #121-125
Weekly Post Day: Wednesday
Details: This is my weekly wednesday post which will feature five things each week which I love, make me happy or make me smile. Mostly all three! Hope you enjoy :)
(You can find the others in the tab above)

I can't believe that is Wednesday already. I always feel that once a Wednesday at school has passed, which is always the most boring day, that the last two days always go really quick. I can't wait for the weekend, I don't think I'm doing anything special yet but it's great to have days off even if it is only two days! Here's another Time to Smile post - I think I could be running out of things that make me smile pretty soon. I'll just have to get my thinking cap on :)

121. Great blogs which I love reading but can also relate to

122. perfume testing in shops

123. Marilyn Monroe quotes, definitely inspirational

124. babies! (I'm not broody as I'm only 16 but they are just too cute!)
I love their little hands and feet.

125. good photo taking!
(Half the time I'm rubbish)

I was also really pleased today that I found out that I had recieved an award 'The Versatile Blogger Award' for the second time!! I promise to do the rules of recieving the award tomorrow. But for now: have a really lovely day.

Couldn't Say It Better Myself!

I'm sick of people thinking I'm a swot, nerd whatever you want to call it and when someone said the other week 'I loved school' I just thought to myself 'hold on a sec you know nothing about me and the truth is I dislike school and I can't wait to go to sixth form!' But he wouldn't know that because he knows nothing about me and he is quite frankly a dick! I hate swearing on my blog but there is no other way to describe him. I do my work, get my grades and will succeed in doing something I want to, probably unike him and other people who obviously think along the same lines about me.

Anyway I found this over at Jen's blog and well frankly I felt like I could really relate to it and thought I would post it on here:

(I wish I was relaxing here)

115. It being March!

(1) At The Moment I'm Loving:

Laura Marling & Laura Jansen

These two artists are totally different in the way they sound and the only things they have in common are their first names and that I have recently downloaded their albums and love listening to them!

Laura Marling is more contempory folk and folk rock. I downloaded both her albums Alas I Cannot Swim and I Speak Because I Can, after listening to one of her songs on my friend's iPod at school. A few days after she won the BRIT award for Best Female Solo Artist and I was like woo, I actually know who she is! because she is not that well known. She's linked to Mumford and Sons because their style of music is similar and they have supported eachother at gigs. I love Mumford and Sons too! My favourite songs at the minute from her are Ghosts off her first album and New Romantic which is actually on neither of her albums.

(Second Album)

Laura Jansen is more under the genre of indie pop. After downloading her song Single Girls which I saw on youtube, I decided to download her album Bells a couple of days ago. I love it. I think you can really relate to her songs and they sound so sweet - they're good when you want to relax! She has done a cover of the amazing King's of Leon - Use Somebody (is it me or does everyone do a cover on this song? :/ ) However unlike some of the covers I've heard, this is really good and in my opinion totally different from the original. Favourite songs of hers from her album: Single Girls, Use Somebody and Wicked World. Wicked World is actually great and quite humourous if you listen to the lyrics carefully.

I would definitely check these out on Youtube :)

Don't Look Back At This Crumbling Fool.

It's times like these when I wish that my birthday was in the first six months of the year not in December. I really need a new camera, mine is so temperamental - you'll just be about to take a photo and then it will suddenly switch to video mode - Aghhhh. So frustrating! Then again I love how my birthday is quite close to Christmas because then I can get a bigger more expensive present which will be for both. Did I just mention Christmas? I'm going to change the subject because I'm not talking about Christmas, it's just been and I can't be doing with more wintry weather!!

Do you have any plans for summer time, when it finally arrives? I don't really have that much planned, just Paris in April but does that count as summer? Hmm, it's probably more spring is isn't? I love when it's nearly spring/summer. I love looking at the new fashions but the only way I would be able to afford most of the things I've seen, I would have to have a go at trying to use monopoly money. Just a little feeling that probably won't work. I wish I could share something much more fun and interesting with you all but I can't because I've done bot-all exciting lately.

What you think of this? Pretty deep but very clever...

Yesterday I went with my family out for a meal because it was my grandma's birthday. I wasn't that fussed on going because last time we went to this place, me and my older brother both thought the food was horrible and so obviously I didn't want to go again but my parents told me the chefs had changed. Had they hell! The food was horrible, the waitress was either very hungover or a bitch or just both. She slammed the plates on the table without a smile. Anyway, I'll be making sure I don't go back there again. My parents heard this a few times yesterday: 'I told you so!'
I wish the food was more like this:

But it wasn't.

By the way, I thought I would add, that the title of this post is from Take It All from Adele's album - 21. I may have already mentioned this but I'm going to mention it again - her album is amazing!! Anyway this leads me onto my next point, I'm going to start another feature on my blog which I don't think is going to have a set day to be posted. It'll be something along the lines of what I'm loving at the minute, in my small little world. It could be music, fashion, films etc. Hopefully, I'll start posting these this week sometime, maybe even tomorrow as I don't think I have plans.

Monday Inspiration x2-

30 Days of Truth - Day Thirty!

Day Thirty - A letter to yourself, tell yourself everything you love about yourself...

Dear Rebecca,
I love how you keep yourself to yourself and don't find the need to brag or be an attention seeker. You think about other people's feelings in situations and it's not all about yourself. I love how you don't judge people on first appearances and you accept people for who they are. You don't feel like you have to change yourself for anyone but if you do change it's only for yourself, which is great! If your not happy about something, you will speak up even though you're quite shy and modest whilst at school. You speak far too fast but that is just a part of being you! You don't make a show of yourself and aren't crazy and confident in groups of people but you have a great personality and need to show it more! I like how your honest about yourself and would rather stay and watch television than go out drinking on a friday night.
Love yourself x

Hey followers :) Hope you have enjoyed my 30 Days of Truth, I sure have. It has been really enlightening for me. I have to say I'm glad this final post is over because I have found saying what I love about myself a real challenge. I couldn't be less vain or anymore modest! I'm looking forward to posting Time to Smile again - so I hope you enjoy those! :)
